Brennan scored a goal and assisted on another and Drew MacIntyre stopped 28 shots as the Toronto Marlies beat the Milwaukee Admirals 6-2 on Friday night for a 1-0 lead in their American Hockey League first-round playoff series. Brennans unassisted goal at 18:55 of the second period came just 68 seconds after Milwaukee had pulled to within 2-1 on Patrick Cehlins one-timer. Sam Carrick scored twice for Toronto, while Josh Leivo, Kenny Ryan and Jerry DAmigo added singles. Milwaukees first power play lasted just five seconds before Taylor Beck was called for high sticking to create 4-on-4 hockey. The Marlies took advantage, as Carrick took a loose puck from the back wall and had all day to pull out to the right post and beat Admirals goaltender Marek Mazenec at 17:46. The Marlies made it 2-0 with a power-play goal just 1:55 into the second. With Charles-Olivier Roussel off for interference, Leivo walked in from the left point and unleashed a wrist shot that bounced in off the right post. After Cehlins goal at 17:47, Brennan stopped an attempted clearing pass near the right point and his shot appeared to go in off the body of Milwaukee defender Bryan Rodney near the left post at 18:55. Toronto pushed it to 4-1 at 46 seconds of the third period on a goal by DAmigo. Milwaukee cut it to 4-2 on a power-play goal by Filip Forsberg, but couldnt get any closer.
